Lake Macquarie
This beautiful spot is a popular holiday area. Lake Macquarie is the largest salt-water lake in Australia and it is only about 1 1/2 hours drive north of Sydney. The lake is situated next to the Pacific Ocean and offers a large number of activities to enjoy.

Located next to the lake you might be interested in visiting the village of Catherine Hill Bay Beach. This beautiful little village has been left relatively untouched thus it still has its old charm and feel. It has a great beach that its patrolled during the summer where you can go swimming, fishing, sailing and surfing.

It is possible to hire a boat with Lake Macquarie Boat Hire or for some adventure go on a Sand Safari. There are many scenic walks and the Blackbutt Nature Reserve is a great place to see some local wildlife.
